One: Regarding the matter of the edict that when Matsudaira Bingo-no-kami takes leave to his domain, henceforth jōshi (senior envoys) and oshiban (inspectors) shall be dispatched. The above was conveyed to Lord Izumo-no-kami as representative in the palace. One: The particulars conveyed to Lord Bingo-no-kami's retainers are as follows: His Lordship, in response to a directive signed jointly by the Senior Councillors on the 26th day of the 12th month of last year, attended the castle on the following 27th day. At that time, a petition was made to the main family regarding promotion in rank assessment and the matter of jōshi and leave to the domain. It was decreed that he be granted a rank assessment of 100,000 koku, as conveyed by the Senior Councillors in session. Furthermore, it was stated that when he takes leave to his domain, this shall be announced through jōshi. These petitioned matters were conveyed through official notification, for which he feels deeply grateful. The reason for this is that it has been a matter of earnest petition for generations, and he had long been making this request to the main family. Since the matter of jōshi could not be accomplished without rank promotion, he submitted this petition at this time. His petition was granted as requested, and truly through the authority of the main family, his heartfelt wishes were granted. All should gratefully acknowledge this matter, it was proclaimed. Other separate matters conveyed are omitted here. One: Copy of the domain certificate granted by the eighth Shogun, Lord Yoshimune, in Kyōhō 2: From the three provinces of Kaga, Noto, and Etchu totaling 1,202,760 koku: excluding 70,170+ koku from Enuma and Nomi districts in Kaga Province, 100,000 koku from Nei and Niikawa districts in Etchu Province, and 10,000 koku from the four districts of Noto Province—totaling 180,170+ koku to be excluded—the remainder of 1,022,590+ koku, together with 2,430+ koku from three villages in Takashima District of Ōmi Province, totaling 1,025,000+ koku (marginal note: inventory on separate paper) is hereby granted.
