Louis-Napoleon was imprisoned in a place called "Ham." Ham is located halfway between Paris and the Prussian fortress, a small locality near Saint-Quentin. There was a doctor there named "Conneau" who perceived that Napoleon would gain heavenly fortune and achieve success in the future, and secretly assisted him. Although he was confined in the place of Ham for approximately six years, he did not waste a single day. His studies focused exclusively on political science, and he eventually authored three books.
