但願之上馬術為修行自力を以
江戸表へ罷登居候内御最馬等度々
被 仰付相勤候ニ付絹壱疋被下置候

一正徳四午年正月五石壱人扶持御加
増被下置小番被 仰付候事
一同年九月為勤番江戸表へ罷登
翌未三月罷下候事

玉麟院様御近習番被 仰付候

玉麟院様御疱瘡被遊候為御祝
義金弐百疋被下置且御相手宜仕候

下し置かれ、召し出されて御馬方見習を仰せ付けられ、席は
芸者の次に成し下され候
但し願いの上、馬術修行のため自力をもって
江戸表へ罷り登り居り候内、御最馬等度々
仰せ付けられ相勤め候につき、絹一疋を下し置かれ候

However, upon his request, in order to study horsemanship at his own expense
while staying in Edo, he was repeatedly
appointed to the finest horse duties and served well, for which he was granted one bolt of silk
1. In the 1st month of Shōtoku 4, Horse year, he was granted an increase of five koku and allowance for one retainer, and appointed to the guard unit (koban)
1. In the 9th month of the same year, he went up to Edo for duty rotation
and returned in the 3rd month of the following Sheep year
1. In the 3rd month of Kyōhō 5, Rat year
he was appointed as personal attendant to Lord Gyokurin'in
1. In the 11th month of the same 9th year, Dragon year
in celebration of Lord Gyokurin'in's recovery from smallpox,
he was granted 200 hiki of gold and was commended for
serving as a good companion
1. In the 1st month of the same 12th year, Sheep year
Lord Gyokurin'in passed away, and he served in the funeral procession,
after which he was ordered to retire from service at Sannomaru
