現代語訳
加藤家に在籍していたところ、石見国への移封の際に浪人となった。
土津様の御意向で「半右衛門は老人の上に浪人となり、一層困窮するであろうから、こちらに引き取り、少額の扶持米を与えて養うべし」との旨を、五郎右衛門を通じて仰せ出された。加藤の御屋敷から直接芝の御屋敷に引き移り、その後金一枚に四人扶持を下し置かれた。
岩彦様に御附けになったところ、加藤家で奥向きに召し使われ、家政にも通じた者であったので、奥向きに遠慮なく出入りし、御守殿向きを見分した上で、破損等もあれば申し付けるべき旨を仰せ付けられ、極老まで滞りなく相勤めた。
一、寛文四年（1664年）辰年八月、八十二歳で病死

While serving the Katō family, when they were transferred to Iwami Province, he became a rōnin (masterless samurai).
By Lord Hoshina's will: "Since Hanemon has become a rōnin in his old age, he will be in even greater distress, so we should take him in and provide him with a small rice stipend," this was proclaimed through Goroemon. He moved directly from the Katō residence to the Shiba residence, and was subsequently granted one gold piece and a four-person rice stipend.
When he was assigned to serve Lord Iwahiko, since he had served in the women's quarters at the Katō house and was knowledgeable about household management, he was ordered to enter the women's quarters without reserve, inspect the lord's quarters, and report any damages that might be found. He served faithfully until his extreme old age.
