accordingly was granted eight ryō and provisions for four men, and was summoned to serve as page (okoshō)
1. Same year, fourth month: Appointed as advance guard (osaki-ban), went up [to Edo]. The following
year of the Goat, fourth month: Fell ill with smallpox, was granted leave
and went down to his home province
However, thereafter, each time [the lord] traveled up and down [to/from Edo], he served as attendant or
traveled in the advance party or rear guard
1. Same year, Kyōhō 8, year of the Rabbit (1723), fourth month: Appointed as provisional dinner service attendant (gozen-ban kariyaku)
1. Same year 9, year of the Dragon (1724), second month: Granted an increase of one ryō
