を一首（いつしゆ）も進退（しんたい）すべきにあらずといへとも止（やむ）ことを得（え）す初（はじめ）に彫（てう）
刻（こく）せしは残（のこ）し其余（そのよ）を集（あつむ）るゆへ甚（はなは）だ本集（ほんしふ）の意（こゝろ）に狠（もと）れり
依（よつ）て書林（しよりん）嵩山房（すうざんばう）の主人（しゆじん）に代（かわ）りて申／訣（わけ）を述（のぶ）かつ又（また）先（せん）
刻（こく）に慣（なら）ひ毎詩（まいし）大意（たいい）を略解（りやくかい）すといへとも猶（なを）くわしき事
は諸先生（しよせんせい）の註解（ちうかい）せし本（ほん）ども嵩山房（すうざんばう）蔵書目録（さうしよもくろく）に弘（ひろむ）る通（とを）

現代語訳

を一首も進退（追加や削除）すべきではないと言っても、やむを得ない。初めに彫刻したものは残し、その余りを集めるため、甚だ本集の意図に反している。よって書林嵩山房の主人に代わって申し訳を述べ、かつまた先刻（以前の刊行）に習い、毎詩の大意を略解するといっても、なお詳しいことは諸先生が注解した本どもが嵩山房蔵書目録に広める通り、品々あるので、これを読めば講義の微細を得ることができるだろう。

should not have even a single poem added or removed, but it cannot be helped. Since we kept what was initially carved and are now collecting the remainder, this greatly goes against the intention of the original collection. Therefore, on behalf of the master of the publishing house Suzanbo, I offer this explanation. Moreover, following the practice of previous publications, although we provide brief explanations of the general meaning of each poem, for more detailed matters, there are various annotated editions by distinguished scholars available in Suzanbo's book catalog, so readers who consult these will be able to grasp the finer points of interpretation.
