「胡笳曲」　王昌齢

城の南で敵軍がすでに集結し、一夜のうちに幾重にも包囲した。自ずと金笳の音色が響き、よく出塞の調べを奏でて飛ばしめる。関月に臨んで聴けば苦しく、清らかな音は海風に入って微かである。三度奏でる高楼の暁、胡人は涙を覆って帰る。

城南に敵軍がすでに寄り集まり、一夜のうちに幾重にも囲んだ。このような折から、よく「出塞」の曲の音色が吹き渡り響いた。それを聞けば「関山月」の曲に臨むゆえ苦しく響く。清んだ音色は「海風」の曲に入って微かに聞こえる。三たび改めて曲を吹いたのは高楼の暁方であったが、手強い胡人どもも涙を流し、手拭いで覆って帰った。

"Song of the Barbarian Reed Pipe" by Wang Changling

South of the castle, the barbarians have already gathered; in one night they surround us in multiple layers. Naturally the golden reed pipe sounds, skillfully making the "Departing the Frontier" melody fly forth. Listening while facing the moon at the pass is painful; the clear sound enters the sea wind, faint and subtle. Playing three times at dawn from the high tower, the barbarian people cover their tears and return home.

South of the castle, the enemy forces had already gathered and surrounded us in multiple layers throughout the night. At such a time, the melody of "Departing the Frontier" rang out beautifully across the air. When one listens to it, it sounds painful because it evokes "Moon over the Pass at the Border Mountains." The clear tone enters the "Sea Wind" melody and can be heard faintly. The tune was played three times anew at dawn from the high tower, but even the fierce barbarian warriors shed tears, covered their faces with cloths, and returned home.
