杜（と）は氏少府（うぢせうふ）は納戸役（なんどやく）から転（てん）じて蜀（しよく）の役人（やくにん）に任（にん）ぜられ之（ゆく）を送（おく）る詩（し）也／其元（そこもと）のゆく蜀（しよく）の国（くに）は
要害（えうがい）を能（よく）せねばならぬ京（みやこ）に万一（まんいち）不慮（ふりよ）があれば天子（てんし）も行幸（みゆき）あるそれゆゑ京（きやう）の三ヶ所（しよ）の

現代語訳

杜少府の蜀州に任ずるを送る　　　王勃

城郭が三秦を輔け、風煙が五津を望む。君と離別の意は、同じく官遊の人なり。海内に知己存し、天涯も比隣の如し。岐路にありて無為なることなかれ、児女共に巾を沾すを。

杜は姓、少府は官職名で、納戸役から転じて蜀の役人に任命され、その人を送る詩である。あなたの行く蜀の国は要害を守らねばならない。京都に万一不測の事があれば天子も行幸される。それゆえ都の三ヶ所の役所の援助下にある。その風景は五つの津（渡し場）を望む。異民族が都へ打ち入るには五つの津を通らねば来られない。そこで物見の役人が日夜五つの津を望んで居る。用心せねばならぬ所である。さて君と離別する気持ちは尽きないけれども、君も私も都から他国へ役人として行くのは決まったことなので、私も明日はどこの国へ役人として行き、また会うこともわからない身の上である。海内は万国同じことで、この天の下どこの国へ行っても、君と私の心さえ変わらなければ、秦と蜀の遠く遙々天の果てでも軒を並べる隣のように思う。されども別れは苦しく、むなしくなる別れ路にありて、女や子供のように共々に手ぬぐいを濡らすように涙を流す。表面ではきちんとしたことを言っても自然と心中の真情が現れ、名残惜しい様子はこうあるべきことである。

Sending Off Du the Junior Prefect to His Post in Shuzhou　　Wang Bo

The city walls support the Three Qin regions, wind and mist look toward the Five Fords. The feeling of parting from you—we are both traveling officials. Within the seas, true friends exist; at heaven's edge, it's like being next-door neighbors. Do not act uselessly at the crossroads, wetting handkerchiefs together like children and women.

Du is the surname, and Junior Prefect is an official title. He was transferred from a treasury position to become an official in Shu, and this is a poem sending him off. The state of Shu where you are going must defend strategic positions. Should any emergency arise in the capital, the emperor would also make an imperial progress there. Therefore, it is under the assistance of three government offices in the capital. The scenery there overlooks the five ferry crossings. When barbarians try to invade the capital, they cannot come without passing through the five ferries. So watchmen officials keep watch over the five ferries day and night. It is a place that requires vigilance. Now, though my feelings of parting from you are endless, since both you and I are destined to go from the capital to other provinces as officials, I too will tomorrow go to serve as an official in some unknown country, and when we might meet again is uncertain. Within the seas all nations are the same—wherever we go under heaven, as long as our hearts remain unchanged, even the distant ends of heaven between Qin and Shu will seem like neighboring houses side by side. However, parting is painful, and at these sorrowful crossroads, we shed tears that wet our handkerchiefs like women and children together. Even though we speak proper words on the surface, naturally our true feelings show through, and this display of reluctant parting is as it should be.
