【右丁】
**枸棘（くきょく）**（『集解』） おにくこ
人家に植えて垣根とする。樹の形は前条（枸杞）に似て、長さは二丈ほどになる。
【左丁】
葉の形も前条に似るが、やや小さい。古い茎・新しい茎ともに刺（とげ）を生じる。花と実も前条と同じく、実は前条より長みがある。蘇頌の説に「刺あるものは枸棘なり」と言っているものがこれにあたる。

**地骨皮（ちこつひ）**
枸杞の根の皮である。
その形は朽ち木の肌のようで、黒褐色をしており、やわらかい。

Planted around human dwellings and used as hedges. The form of the tree resembles that of the preceding entry (*kuko* / goji), and it can grow to a height of approximately two *jō* (about six meters).
【Left folio】
The shape of the leaves also resembles that of the preceding entry, though slightly smaller. Both old and new stems bear thorns. The flowers and fruit are likewise similar to those of the preceding entry, though the fruit is somewhat more elongated. This corresponds to what the Song-dynasty scholar Su Song described when he said: "Those that bear thorns are *kūkyoku* (枸棘)."

**Chikotsuhi** 地骨皮 (Root bark of the wolfberry / *Lycii Cortex Radicis*)
This is the bark of the root of *kuko* (wolfberry; *Lycium chinense*).
Its surface resembles the skin of rotting wood: dark brownish-black in color and soft in texture.
