The tree grows to a height of two to three *shaku* (approximately sixty to ninety centimeters). The shape of the leaves resembles that of the preceding entry (*utsugi*) but is smaller, and the flowers are likewise the same as those of the preceding entry.

*One variety*
The tree grows to a height of seven to eight *shaku* (approximately two to two and a half meters). The shape of the leaves is the same as that of *utsugi*. In early summer, it forms spikes at the tips of its branches and bears double-petaled (*yaé*) flowers of a pale reddish color. The shape resembles that of chrysanthemum flowers, and they measure approximately four to five *bu* in size.
