樹木と葉はともに前条と同じである。
花の形も前条と同様に八重咲きで、
最初に開くときは白色であり、次第に
紅色を帯びていき、最終的には深紅色
となる。そのためこれを
「酔芙蓉」と呼ぶ。

Both the tree and leaves are the same as in the preceding entry. The flower's form is likewise double-petaled (multipetaled) as in the preceding entry; when it first opens it is white, then gradually takes on a rosy hue, and finally becomes deep crimson. It is for this reason that it is called *Sui-fuyō*, meaning "drunken hibiscus."
