一、先月十日から善光寺開帳につき諸国から参詣の旅人がおびただしく多く泊まった際は、一軒の旅籠屋へ千二百四十人が泊まり、そのうち千二百人は旅籠銭を受け取り、残り四十人は無賃で泊めたとのことです。このように群集した折柄の大地震で、善光寺町は荒れ果てて震災で潰れ、その上出火で死人は何程か数限りないとのことです。如来堂に籠った旅人およそ三千人余りは、これは無事で立ち退きましたが、
