一此度被遊御誕生候御姫様
御名芳姫君様与奉称候之間
町中之女よしと申名有之候ハヽ
早々可相改候以上
九月廿八日被仰付町中へ申渡候
此度諸宗本寺ゟ諸寺院へ
掟書差出候因茲自今法事
之節者勿論常々饗応等
軽く可被取斗候間俗家におゐて
麁末之仕方与被存間鋪候
惣而法事之始其外寺院ニ懸り
合候之儀者本寺之掟を被承
合候而可然為心得相達候

ニ而十月十一日ニ被仰渡候間町中へ
急度申渡候
以廻状得御意候
一地震今以不鎮候二付火之元之儀
第一ニ被 思召候間弥銘々可被念

申付候様ニと御年寄中被仰候
一今度之大変ニ付例年御年
寄中ゟ浄土寺御仏前江
相献候燈籠之儀今年被相止候

一、この度お生まれになられた姫様の御名前を芳姫君様と申し上げることになりましたので、町中の女性で「よし」という名前の者がおりましたら、早急に改名するようにしてください。以上
九月二十八日に仰せ付けられ、町中へ申し渡しました。
この度、諸宗派の本寺から諸寺院へ掟書が出されました。これにより今後、法事の際はもちろんのこと、日常の饗応等も質素に取り計らうようにしてください。俗家において粗末な扱いをしているとお思いになってはいけません。総じて法事の始めその他寺院に関わる事柄については、本寺の掟をよく聞き合わせてから行うのがよろしいでしょう。心得として申し伝えます。
享保七年九月
右の書付は渡辺権兵衛様が当番月の時に十月十一日に仰せ渡されましたので、町中へ厳重に申し渡しました。
回状をもってお伺いします
一、地震が今なお収まらないことについて、火の元の件を第一にお考えになっておられますので、いよいよ各々気を付けるようにしてください。この件について支配下の者たちまでもお申し付けになるようにと、御年寄衆が仰せになりました。
一、今度の大変事につき、例年御年寄衆から浄土寺の御仏前へお供えしている燈籠の件は、今年は取り止めになりました。

Memorandum
1. Regarding the princess who was born this time, she shall be called Princess Yoshi. Therefore, if there are any women in the town with the name "Yoshi," they must change their names immediately. That is all.
This was ordered on the 28th day of the 9th month and announced to the town.
This time, regulatory documents have been issued from the main temples of various sects to their affiliated temples. Accordingly, from now on, not only during Buddhist memorial services but also in daily entertaining and hospitality, matters should be handled with simplicity. People should not think that secular households are treating these matters carelessly. In general, regarding the beginning of memorial services and other matters related to temples, it would be proper to consult with the regulations of the main temple first. This is conveyed as guidance to keep in mind.

The above written notice was issued by Watanabe Gonbee-sama during his monthly duty on the 11th day of the 10th month, so it was strictly announced to the town.
We respectfully inquire by circular notice:
1. Since earthquakes have still not subsided, fire prevention is considered the highest priority, so everyone should be even more careful. The senior councilors have ordered that this matter be communicated even to those under your jurisdiction.
1. Due to this great disaster, the lanterns that the senior councilors annually offer to the Buddhist altar at Jōdo Temple have been canceled this year.
