As ordered above, the townspeople shall comply with the regulations as written in the ordinances issued for those of age.
1. Those in service and officials, as well as servants, shall wear the clothing distributed on the twentieth day. For New Year ceremonies, the five seasonal festivals, or official duties, they may wear silk or pongee when appearing. Cotton clothing is at one's discretion and should follow the standards for formal wear. However, those who have changed service may have received special garments, so exceptions apply. Regarding wives and children, they shall not wear anything other than silk.
1. Regarding townspeople, for New Year and the five seasonal festivals, henceforth only cotton and hemp cloth shall be permitted. Furthermore, the wearing of formal attire for New Year, pre-Bon period, and seasonal festivals is prohibited. Given this, wives and children who already possess such items may wear silk or pongee only when unavoidable, but anything of higher quality is completely prohibited.
These regulations must be strictly observed, and all should exercise restraint to avoid any improper conduct. These instructions shall be announced throughout the town. Those who misunderstand or violate these rules shall be punished.

When Her Highness's Bon celebration was being arranged, blind musicians (zatō) and female entertainers (goze) requested to offer congratulations. However, since they were not granted this privilege during the remarriage ceremony, it should not be granted now. When town officials conveyed this, they went to the zatō guild office, and there are matters concerning officials making various requests...
