現代語訳
それ外邪は治しやすく、貧の病の内傷は治し難い。寒熱温涼にも反作用があり、君臣佐使（薬の配合法）もできない無頼者は親から勘当され、人参を用い当帰の居候となれば、金銀花や犀角一両もない難病も、人の意見に肝心の臓を補い、酒色の欲に匙を投げ、茯苓の妻を迎え、少し良い嫉妬を臨機応変にし、年を薬にすれば癒えることは神の如し。五体不具の毒を解して北向きの遊郭通いを止めれば、外の方剤は薬袋もない。大事な令息をむやみに療治めさるなあ。

Hot, cold, warm, and cool [remedies] all have contraindications, and rogues who cannot master the principles of herbal formulation (kun-shin-sa-shi) are disowned by their parents. If they use ginseng and become dependents relying on dong quai, even serious illnesses lacking expensive medicines like honeysuckle and rhinoceros horn can be treated by supplementing vital organs through people's advice, abandoning the spoon to desires for wine and women, taking a wife from the poria family, moderating jealousy with adaptability, and using age as medicine - such healing is godlike. If one detoxifies the poison of the five impaired bodies and stops frequenting the northern pleasure quarters, no other prescriptions or medicine bags are needed. Do not recklessly treat your precious son!
