佐野はひたすら金の工面をしようと、あちらこちらを歩き回っていたが、ある時途中で五衰三熱の苦しみで道中に倒れてしまった。そこへ馬左衛門がやって来て、すがりつき、しみじみと口説こうとするが、嫌な顔をして近寄らせない。肩を脱いだ姿を見ると、脇の下に羽が三枚ある。馬左衛門は腹立ち紛れに、この羽を抜いて捨ててしまう。

羽を抜かれたので、佐野は天人の神通力を失ってしまった。

Sano was desperately trying to raise money, walking here and there, but at one point on the road she collapsed from the suffering of the Five Declines and Three Fevers. There Bazaemon came upon her, clinging to her and trying to seduce her earnestly, but she made a disgusted face and wouldn't let him approach. When he saw her with her shoulders exposed, there were three feathers under her arms. In his frustrated anger, Bazaemon pulled out these feathers and threw them away.
