【右頁 上】
晴次は蔵人の侍杵八に金を与えて羽鳥姫のことを聞く。杵八は嬉しさのあまり、大切な秘密を話してしまう。
「羽衣のことですが、ここから八里東の山上の野幅の池のほとりに松の木があります。この下に羽衣を埋めて置いてあります」と語る。
「なるほど、天人の羽衣を持つ人は観現の妙を得ると聞く。良いことを聞きました。褒美にまた金二両はずみます。この金で仲居でも買いなさい。」

「これは段々とうまい具合だ。もう少し何か覚えていたら、まだ金になるものを。残念なことだ。」

佐野村の与之兵衛が娘の死骸を見て嘆く。しかるに佐野の死骸は、腰より上は人で腰より下は鳥である。
藤内左衛門は「羽鳥姫と佐野が舞の体とは、これは不思議なことだなあ」と詮議する。
「たわけ者ら、黙っておれ。」

Haretsugu gives money to Kurando's retainer Kinehachi to ask about Habitori-hime. Kinehachi, overcome with joy, reveals an important secret.
"Regarding the feathered robe, eight ri to the east from here, on a mountaintop at Nobata pond, there is a pine tree. The feathered robe is buried beneath it," he tells him.
"Indeed, I have heard that those who possess a celestial being's feathered robe gain the wonder of divine manifestation. You have told me something valuable. As a reward, I'll give you another two ryō in gold. Use this money to buy yourself a serving girl or something."
