【右頁 上】
駿河国有度の浜、三保の松原というのは類まれな絶景である。その昔、天人がここに天下りした事は羽衣の謡曲に詳しい。またその頃、天女がこの所へ舞い下がり、昔の跡を慕って面白がるあまりに羽衣を松に掛け置き、あちこちと遊び回る。

乙女：「まことにこの所は、私やあなたの心を慰めるには良い所です。はや日も山の端に傾いています。天上へ戻りましょう。」
【左頁 乙女上】
この所の漁夫与茂作は、松に掛かれる羽衣を見つけて喜び、取って帰る。
「やれやれ、良い物が干してある。この羽衣を本物の金持ちに見せたら、相当な値になるだろう。しめた物だ。しかし、この羽衣がなくては天女も天上へは戻れず、困って見えるであろう。」

【Right page, upper】
Suruga Province's Udo Beach, called Miho no Matsubara (Pine Grove of Miho), is scenery of unparalleled beauty. Long ago, a celestial being descended here, as detailed in the Noh play "Hagoromo" (Feathered Robe). Again in those times, a heavenly maiden descended to this place, and being so delighted by the traces of the past, she hung her feathered robe on a pine tree and wandered about here and there.

Maiden: "Truly, this place is good for consoling my heart and yours. Already the sun is setting behind the mountain ridge. Let us return to heaven."
【Left page, maiden's part, upper】
The fisherman Yomosaku of this place found the feathered robe hanging on the pine tree, rejoiced, and took it home.
"Well, well, what a fine thing is hanging here to dry. If I show this feathered robe to a real wealthy person, it would fetch a considerable price. What a find! However, without this feathered robe, the heavenly maiden cannot return to heaven and must be in distress."
