はなしを
繪なるた

あまりに厚き
顔の皮とおつしやる

現代語訳

【右丁】
綴じ入れよということ、これもまた子孫に及んで春の日の長く秋の夜の深きに及んで砂糖豆の食い尽くし、祖父母の昔話の

【左丁】
数にも入るべきや。話を絵になるたはむれ、書きその絵ここに綴じ入れたれば、あまりに厚き顔の皮とおっしゃる方もあるべけれど

英語訳

【Right Page】
This instruction to "bind it in" - this too shall extend to descendants, and during the long spring days and deep autumn nights, after eating up all the sugar beans, among grandfather and grandmother's old stories
