として市町を東西に分ち祇園會祭禮

とはいえども、その中でも特に入手困難な秘書や書画の類、小道具、古代の名器が微塵となって灰になり、一朝一夕に山をなすことは嘆かわしく、また驚き恐れるべきことである。ここにまた、市街の年中行事、神社仏閣の縁日祭礼が賑わうことは数多いとはいえども、その中でも特に六月十三・十四日の両日は、先例の慣例として市町を東西に分かち、祇園会祭礼の狂言屋台・鉾と練り物・灯籠に至るまで焼け損なうことが多いので、我が子よ、お前においてはこの有様を見ることはないであろう。また西町横町においては
