をあらそひ江戸京大坂千人講中あるひは
念佛御花講中奉納物善美を

見つめて黒痣を抜き、鍮石を磨き、銀を流すあるいは口中一切の薬、歯磨き、四文銭を噛み砕いて利口者の気を奪い、七色唐辛子は冷茶で口中を潤し、声が嗄れるのもいとわず、一味ごとに効能を喋りまくる。熊の脂、即妙膏、吉井の火打石は擦り合わせて火口に移し、占い師は当たりもしない卦を捕らえて出鱈目を言い、三国一の甘酒、山川白酒の類はなし。簾の茶店は流行の苔茶、深川鼠色で、粋でもなく野暮でもなく。

Stylish patterns such as snow rings, scattered chrysanthemums, and primroses are dyed two or three to a bolt of cloth, each devising novel and ingenious ideas. They set up stalls here and there around the bell tower and pine groves, and the bustling activity is beyond comparison - my poor brush cannot capture even one thousandth of it. In addition, there are sudden donations and offerings of various items, with people from nearby villages and countryside competing for space, not wanting to be outdone.
