既に松本木曽の福島諏訪の御家中
境に固を出して其御領分を訪ん
とす小事と雖言語流布して事
大ひなり時に今此始末に至り帰陣
の行粧大勢の囚人一行に列騎馬は
前後を固て中仙道の往還を通り人の
目を驚し噂は早く遠近に響て
御威光四方に輝き内郷の諸村は先非
ヲ悔弥慎み弥上を重し諸民
御仁徳の厚きを考ふるに至る藩中
にハ皆武を忘れざるの謂なり斯有
大義を小子可徴意を御尋有て御人数の
人伍小札之趣法陣場之立所諸御道具
弁当支度出立刻限囚人名前ノ札
宮木出張之取計ひ雨沢上島ノ関所
牢屋之用意等ニ至迄都而百発百中
にして冥加に叶ひ難有抔も不可尽言語
依不許他見不他言扣置事如件

現代語訳
すでに松本、木曽の福島、諏訪の御家中は境に警備を配置して、その領分を探ろうとした。小さな事とはいえ、噂が広まって事態は大きくなった。この時に今回の始末に至り、帰陣の行列では大勢の囚人が一行に連なり、騎馬は前後を固めて中山道の街道を通り、人々の目を驚かせた。噂は早く遠近に響き、御威光は四方に輝き、内郷の諸村は先の過ちを悔い、いっそう慎み、いっそう上を重んじ、諸民は御仁徳の厚さを考えるに至った。藩中においては皆、武を忘れないということである。このような大義について、私に意見を問う御下問があって、御人数の編成、小札の趣法、陣場の立て方、諸御道具、弁当支度、出立時刻、囚人名前の札、宮木出張の取り計らい、雨沢上島の関所、牢屋の用意等に至るまで、すべて百発百中であり、冥加にかない、ありがたいことも言葉では尽くせない。他見他言を許さないため控え置くこと件の如し。

Already the retainer groups of Matsumoto, Fukushima in Kiso, and Suwa had stationed guards at their borders attempting to investigate their respective domains. Though it was a small matter, rumors spread and the situation became grave. At this time, having reached this conclusion, in the returning procession a large number of prisoners were lined up together, with mounted guards securing the front and rear as they passed along the Nakasendō highway, startling onlookers. The rumors quickly spread far and wide, the lord's authority shone in all directions, and the villages of Naigō came to regret their previous wrongs, became ever more prudent, and showed ever greater respect for their superiors, with all the people coming to contemplate the thickness of their lord's benevolent virtue. Within the domain, this meant that none forgot their martial duties. Regarding such great righteousness, there was an inquiry asking for my opinion on matters including the organization of troops, methods of small armor tags, positioning of battle formations, various equipment, meal preparations, departure times, prisoner name tags, arrangements for the Miyaki dispatch, the Amazawa and Kamijima checkpoints, preparation of prison facilities, and so forth - all of which proceeded flawlessly and accorded with divine favor, for which gratitude cannot be expressed in words. As disclosure and discussion with others is not permitted, this is recorded accordingly.
