序
そもそも琉球国は日本の西南に位置し、薩摩より三百余里の海中の島国である。琉球の西南はシャム国（タイ）であり、東北は日本に向かっている。行程は東西七八日、南北十二三日である。四季は暖かく、水田がある。

Preface
The Kingdom of Ryukyu is located to the southwest of Japan, an island nation in the sea more than 300 ri from Satsuma. To the southwest of Ryukyu lies the Kingdom of Siam, while to the northeast it faces Japan. The travel distance is seven to eight days from east to west, and twelve to thirteen days from north to south. The four seasons are warm, and there are rice paddies.
