The two Padres were greatly delighted that these three men were superior in wisdom, especially erudite and well-versed in the teachings. They gave Keishun the name Baian (maintaining his monk's appearance with shaved head), named Yasuemon "Kosumo," and called Zengoro "Jumon," transmitting to them the religious doctrine of the heavenly emperor. They had these three men preach and teach the people who gradually came to submit, and since they instructed in the Japanese language, their eloquence was effective and well-understood, bringing great benefit, so they obtained the dharma vessels of the Nanban temple.
