軍は敗走した。29日「ビュロー」（人名）の一軍がみな反旗を翻した。スウェーデン太子が兵を率いてドイツに入った。9月6日、ナポレオンは「ドレスデン」の兵を撤収して「ライプツィヒ」に入った。
これは敵がフランスの帰路を断つことを恐れたためである。
フランス軍は戦うたびに不利となり、16日に両軍が交戦し、18日にフランス全軍がまた敗れ、19日にその兵の過半数がライン河を渡って退却した。ナポレオンは「ハナウ」の大敗の後、ついにサン・クルーに帰還した。

The army retreated in defeat. On the 29th, "Bülow's" (personal name) entire army turned against them. The Swedish Crown Prince led troops into Germany. On September 6th, Napoleon withdrew his forces from "Dresden" and entered "Leipzig."
This was because he feared the enemy would cut off France's retreat route.
The French army found no advantage in every battle, and on the 16th both armies engaged, on the 18th the entire French army was defeated again, and on the 19th more than half of his troops retreated across the Rhine River. After Napoleon's great defeat at "Hanau," he finally returned to Saint-Cloud.
