さて茶屋などには転び芸者というものがいて、ちょっとした契りを結ぶことが流行ったので、浮気の神は油断なく、息子や手代など長居のできない者たちには、また「遊女は真心がない」などと屁理屈を言う浮気者を、この図太さで仕留める。
「音夜坊、簪のことは、我らの飲み込み山」

貧乏神は、かねて企んでいた通り、諸人ことごとくを浮気にならせ、おびただしく金銀を使わせて、よほど貧乏にさせた。けれども浪人や醜男、さては生まれつき吝嗇な者は、なかなか色気でも食い気でも駄目なので、大きな欲心を起こさせて、金儲けの気を起こさせる。
ある者の夢に富士山の頂きに茄子が三十、鷹が一羽いたので、山を三百として三百三十一をもらおうか、ええ。
