それより太郎坊次郎坊は八幡宮の神勅に従って、賢く行動し、しばらくの時の間に一身の神々並びに配下の天狗たちを捕まえてきた。八幡宮がだんだんと御詮索なさったところ、今度の不埒は全く貧乏神と太鼓の天狗たちの仕業によって、世人はかれらの口車にかけられ、不意の出来心より事が起こったに極まったので、世人の罪は許された。貧乏神は西の海へ流し者にお命じつけられ、天狗たちは太郎坊次郎坊へお引き渡しになった。

Following this, Tarobo and Jirobo acted wisely according to Hachiman Shrine's divine decree, and within a short time captured all the gods of individual ailments as well as their subordinate tengu. When Hachiman conducted a thorough investigation, it was determined that this recent misconduct was entirely the doing of the poverty god and the drum-playing tengu, who had deceived the people with their smooth talk, causing incidents to arise from sudden impulses. Since this was established, the people's sins were forgiven. The poverty god was ordered to be exiled to the western sea, and the tengu were handed over to Tarobo and Jirobo.
