兄の谷田部藤七郎と大峯庄蔵がかねてから相談していた奸計を成し遂げようと企て、出奔した。その後、実兄の大峯庄左衛門宅に庄蔵を匿わせていた際も度々面会していた件について、庄左衛門・庄蔵を取り調べたところ、一々白状した。右の前後の次第について兄弟ともに同意して取り繕っていた件は不届きの至りにつき、御取り調べの上、申し付けるべきところではあるが、御容赦をもってその方にお預けになる。畢竟教戒が未熟故の儀と不調法の至りにつき、御役を御免になり小普請組へお入れになる。よってきっと心を付けて慎んでおくべきものである。
