ここに化け物里といって、多くの化け物が正体を現して遊ぶ遊郭があった。中でも長首屋のお六、大寒屋の雪の夜といって、その頃名高い全盛の遊女がいた。

「お六さん、あんまりお延びなさるな。人ごみでかんざしが危ないぞ。」
英語訳
Here was what was called a "monster village" - a pleasure quarter where many monsters revealed their true forms and played. Among them were Oroku of the Long-neck House and Yuki-no-yo of the Great Cold House, who were the most renowned and celebrated courtesans of that time.
