一、同六（巳）年八月、御省略筋について細々と吟味し、人数が減らされて以来、格別に繰り合わせ方（やりくり）が難渋であるとのことではあるが、よく考慮し、臨時の御用にも出精して相勤めたことにより、御役料三石一人扶持を下し置かれた。
一、同七（午）年九月、相州（相模国）の御台場の御普請御用懸りを仰せ付けられ、この節のことであるので、御普請奉行へ申し談じ、成る丈け御入方（費用）が減少するよう取り計らうべき旨を仰せ付けられた。
一、同年十一月、三谷三九郎の御借滞の御返済方（の御用を仰せ付けられた）。

(Continued from previous page) — he was appointed to the temporary post (*kari-yaku*) of *o-kanjō-gashira motoime* (chief accountant with general oversight duties), concurrently serving as assistant to the *o-fushin bugyō* (construction magistrate). He was further ordered to act as intermediary and to submit the various notifications (*shōtatsu*) from the construction office (*o-fushin-kata*), and continued in this capacity until August of the same year.
- In December of the same year, in his established seat (*mochi-seki*) as a permanent-duty (*jōtsume*) officer in the *goshōryaku nin'yaku* (expenditure-reduction appointment), he was ordered to exercise supervisory authority (*saihai*) over those under the jurisdiction of the *o-kanjō-gashira* (including the *o-kanjō-yaku* officials who had been ordered to attend the *o-kanjō-sho* accounting office).
- In June of the fourth year (Year of the Rabbit, 1807), he was assigned, in his established seat as a permanent-duty officer, to additionally serve concurrently as *o-kanjō-gashira motoime* (chief accountant with general oversight). He was further ordered that he should continue the *goshōryaku nin'yaku* duties as before, and likewise that the duty of assigning personnel at the upper residence (*kami-o-yashiki hitowari-kata goyō*) should also continue as before.

- In August of the sixth year (Year of the Snake, 1809), having carefully examined in detail the matters pertaining to the expenditure-reduction measures (*goshōryaku suji*), and given that since the reduction in staff numbers (*hitokazu*) things had become particularly difficult to manage (*kuriawase*), he had deliberated carefully and diligently carried out even ad hoc duties. In recognition of this, he was granted a stipend (*o-yakulyō*) of three *koku* and one person's rations (*ichi-nin fuchi*).
- In September of the seventh year (Year of the Horse, 1810), he was appointed as officer in charge of the construction works (*o-fushin goyō-gakari*) for the coastal battery (*o-daiba*) in Sagami Province (*Sōshū*). Since this was a matter of the current moment, he was ordered to consult with the *o-fushin bugyō* (construction magistrate) and take measures to reduce expenditures (*o-irikata genshō*) as much as possible.
