嫡子へ返し戻され、御部屋御用人所御雇勤を仰せ付けられ、御扶持方壱人分を増やされ三人扶持に成し下され、費料金弐両ずつ只今までの通り下し置かれる旨を仰せ出された。
一、文化二（丑）年八月、親（父）吉郎治が御役替えを仰せ付けられ会津へ罷り下ったところ、多病の上に年来（高齢）にもなっているので、看病のために旦蔵（本人）を召し連れて罷り下りたく、これにより御用人所御雇勤の御免を成し下され度との段を申し上げた。御下知（沙汰）はないままであったが、願いの上で道中附として罷り下った。

一、同六（巳）年三月、御用所書物の当座御雇を仰せ付けられた。
一、同七（午）年十二月、御用所の旧記調べの御雇として精を出して相勤めたにつき、骨折料として金弐両壱分を下し置かれた。
一、同九（申）年三月、御用所書物の御雇として精を出して相勤め、かつ相州御備方御用につきましては臨時の書き物（認物）なども有り、格別に骨を折って相勤めたにつき、金弐両壱分を下し置かれた。

—[the seat/rank was] returned to the legitimate heir (*chakushi*). He was ordered to serve as an *o-heya go-yōnin-sho* temporary hire (*o-yatoi-kin*), was granted an increase of one person's stipend (*fuchi*), bringing his total to three persons' stipend (*san-nin fuchi*), and it was announced that the expense allowance (*hiryo-kin*) of two *ryō* per year would continue to be granted as before.
- In the eighth month of the second year of Bunka (Year of the Ox), his father Kichirōji was reassigned (*o-yaku-gae*) and traveled down to Aizu. However, as the father was suffering from frequent illness and had also advanced in years, [the subject, Tanzō,] wished to travel down with him to provide nursing care. He accordingly submitted a petition to be relieved of his duties as a temporary hire at the *go-yōnin-sho* (the officials' office). Although no official directive (*go-gechi*) was forthcoming, he traveled down as a road companion (*dōchū-tsuki*) upon submitting his petition.

- In the third month of the sixth year of the same era (Year of the Snake), he was ordered to serve as a temporary hire (*tōza o-yatoi*) for document work (*shomono*) at the *go-yōsho* (administrative office).
- In the twelfth month of the seventh year of the same era (Year of the Horse), having diligently served as a temporary hire for reviewing historical records (*kyūki-shirabe*) at the *go-yōsho*, he was granted two *ryō* and one *bu* in gold as compensation for his labors (*honeori-ryō*).
- In the third month of the ninth year of the same era (Year of the Monkey), having diligently served as a temporary hire for document work at the *go-yōsho*, and additionally, in connection with the official duties for the Sagami Province defense preparations (*Sōshū o-sonae-kata go-yō*), there being various ad hoc writing tasks (*ninaimono*), he served with particular diligence, and was accordingly granted two *ryō* and one *bu* in gold.
