総見寺 閩山（みんざん）
和尚の古事
或夜和尚の方丈より
火もえ上りしに弟子共
走（はせ）来り和尚を尋るに
火焔（くわえん）の中に座禅（ざぜん）し
高声に詩を賦して曰
天示＿二火災＿一 三四更
忽然行脚可憐生
尋常惨似＿二把茅漏＿一
と作りて結句いまたなら
ざるに大雨し
きりに降（ふり）出し
猛火（みやうくわ）忽（たちまち）消（きえ）
ければ
烈焔堆中
夜雨声

安置せし
韋駄（いだ）天尊大
の法師と現（げん）じ
て火をふせぎ給ふ
に杉戸の画龍
もぬけ出て雲雨

冥助（みやうじよ）を得ること
希代（きたい）の霊応（れいおう）

となるよし又当寺
の韋駄天尊は霊

総見寺 閩山和尚の古い逸話
ある夜、和尚の方丈から火が燃え上がった時、弟子たちが駆け寄って和尚を探すと、火炎の中に座禅をしながら、高らかに詩を作って言った：
「天が火災を示す 三四更（深夜）
忽然として行脚 可憐なる生
尋常惨として茅屋の漏れるが如し」
と作って結句がまだ完成しないうちに、大雨が激しく降り出し、猛火はたちまち消えたので、
「烈焔堆中
夜雨声」

と続けた。この時、庫裏に安置されていた韋駄天尊が大法師の姿となって現れ、火を防いでくださり、杉戸に描かれた画龍も抜け出して雲雨をもたらしたということである。実にも道徳の加護力により冥助を得ることは、希代の霊験であった。
この詩は火伏せ（火災除け）になるということで、また当寺の韋駄天尊は霊験あらたかな仏像である。

Sōkenji Temple - An old tale of Priest Minzan
One night, when fire broke out from the priest's quarters (hōjō), his disciples came running to look for the priest. They found him sitting in meditation within the flames, composing a poem in a loud voice:
"Heaven shows a fire disaster at the third or fourth watch (deep night)
Suddenly traveling on foot, a pitiful life
Ordinarily miserable, like a thatched hut with leaks"
Before he could complete the final verse, heavy rain began to fall intensely, and the fierce fire was suddenly extinguished, so he continued:
"In the midst of raging flames
The sound of night rain"

At this time, the Idaten (Skanda) statue enshrined in the temple kitchen manifested as a great priest and protected against the fire. The painted dragon on the cedar door also emerged and brought forth clouds and rain. Truly, receiving divine assistance through the protective power of virtue was a miraculous response unprecedented in its time.
This poem is said to serve as fire protection, and the Idaten statue of this temple is indeed a miraculous image.
