鎮守天満宮 此神像は延喜二年 筑紫（つくし）大宰府（だざいふ）にて御自
筆に画（ゑがゝ）せ給ひ北の御方及び姫君（ひめきみ）へ送らせ給ひし画像に
て天暦年中北野御鎮座の節神殿に御円座ありしを
後醍醐天皇御 崇敬（さうけい）のあまり長岡庄大須の地にむかへ奉
り御建立ありし旧社也《割書：今も北野山と号し大須と｜通称するは此 因（ちなみ）によれり》例祭は
二月廿五日寺子供大文字を奉献し拝殿及び書院の壁（かべ）
に展観（てんぐわん）し諸人の目を驚かしむ此日桜天満宮よりこゝに至

二王門、五層塔（文政年間の建立で、本尊に安置されている愛染明王は弘法大師の作。昔、長岡庄大須にあった古い像で、五智如来は新作の木像である。四天王寺の本尊を写した木像である）、三十三所観音堂、大日堂、聖天堂、不動堂（霊験あらたかな仏像で、世に北野不動と称される）。
鎮守天満宮：この神像は延喜二年に筑紫の大宰府にて菅原道真公が自筆で描かれ、北の御方および姫君へ送られた画像で、天暦年間の北野御鎮座の際に神殿に御座されていたものを、後醍醐天皇が御崇敬のあまり長岡庄大須の地にお迎え申し上げて御建立された由緒ある社である（今も北野山と号し、大須と通称するのはこの由来による）。例祭は二月二十五日で、寺子屋の子供たちが大文字を奉献し、拝殿および書院の壁に展示して、諸人の目を驚かせる。この日、桜天満宮からここに至るまで数十町の間、往来に群衆が集まる（八幡・伊勢・春日の三神を合わせ祀る小社もある。また稲荷・秋葉・天王の小社が側に並んで鎮座している。また鰐口の銘に永享十年の文字が見える）。境内には芝居および見世物小屋等が数軒あって、年中興行している。

The Niō Gate, Five-Story Pagoda (built during the Bunsei era, housing the Aizen Myōō statue created by Kōbō Daishi as the principal image; this is an ancient statue that was formerly at Nagaoka-shō Ōsu, while the Five Wisdom Buddhas are newly carved wooden statues copied from the principal image of Shitennō-ji), the Thirty-three Kannon Hall, Dainichi Hall, Shōten Hall, and Fudō Hall (housing a miraculous Buddha statue known to the world as Kitano Fudō).
Chinju Tenmangu Shrine: This divine image was painted by Sugawara no Michizane himself at Dazaifu in Tsukushi in the second year of Engi, and sent to his wife and daughter. During the Tenryaku era, when the deity was enshrined at Kitano, it was placed in the shrine hall. Out of profound reverence, Emperor Go-Daigo had it brought to Nagaoka-shō Ōsu and established this historic shrine (it is still called Kitano-yama, and the common name "Ōsu" derives from this origin). The annual festival is held on February 25th, when temple school children offer large calligraphy characters, displaying them on the walls of the worship hall and study rooms to amaze all visitors. On this day, crowds gather along the roads for dozens of blocks from Sakura Tenmangu to this location (there is also a small shrine dedicated to the three deities of Hachiman, Ise, and Kasuga. Additionally, small shrines to Inari, Akiba, and Tennō are situated alongside. The inscription on the temple bell shows characters from the tenth year of Eikyō). Within the precincts are several theaters and sideshow booths that operate year-round.
