There is nothing that remains unclear to him. He also admires and emulates the priest Sōgi, constantly wandering among clouds, mist, springs, and stones, wearing elegance as his garment and refined pursuits as his skirt. I previously bestowed upon him the title of "earthly immortal." This is his second obsession. His book collection also equals that of Bun'en, so the world calls them "the twenty thousand volumes of both houses." Shunkō has been skilled at copying and creating reduced drawings since childhood, and the myriad things his eyes behold are sufficient [for his art].
