現代語訳
到る所の百景は蓄えざるはなし。然れども未だ嘗て師あらず、天資の至妙にして其の微を写すときは、以て衛人に代わりて燕王を悦ばしむるに足る。刻彫衆形する者と謂うべし。また頗る鉄脚にして、我が尾張の山水の名霊、神祠仏刹、縦横いくばくぞ、将に容るべからざる地なからんとす。これ三つ目の癖なり。瑞斉特に臨池に名あり。
英語訳
Of the hundred landscapes he visits, there are none he does not collect and store away. However, he has never had a teacher; his natural talent is so exquisite that when he depicts the subtle details, it is sufficient to substitute for the Wei artist and delight the King of Yan. He can truly be called one who carves and sculpts myriad forms. Moreover, he has quite sturdy legs, and throughout the famous scenic spots and sacred places of our Owari province - the mountains and waters, shrines and Buddhist temples - there is scarcely any place his feet cannot reach. This is his third obsession. Zuisai particularly has a reputation for calligraphy.
