横江氏の女師長公に
わかれををしみ奉り入
水して空しくなりしが
公より給はりし小袖を
女が母の故郷なれは此
所の松が枝（え）に懸置しとぞ
やがて塚とし小袖塚と
呼（よ）び小袖かけたる松も
ありしがいつしか枯木（こほく）し
絶たるを今は三四十年
まへに植（うゑ）つぎたる松一木
のこりてあはれなる

小袖塚（鍛冶屋町通鶴重町の北の東側の商家の裏にある）
横江氏の女が師長公との別れを惜しんで入水し、命を落としてしまったが、公より賜った小袖を、女の母の故郷であるこの場所の松の枝に掛けて置いたという。やがて塚とし、小袖塚と呼ぶようになった。小袖を掛けた松もあったが、いつの間にか枯れてしまって絶えてしまい、今は三、四十年前に植え継いだ松一本が残っているだけの、哀れな古塚である。

Kosode-zuka (Kimono Mound) (Located behind a merchant house on the east side north of Kajiya-chō Street, Tsurushige-chō)
A woman of the Yokoe family, lamenting her parting from Lord Moronaga, threw herself into the water and died. The kosode (short-sleeved kimono) that she had received from the lord was hung on the branches of a pine tree at this place, which was her mother's hometown. Eventually a mound was built and it came to be called Kosode-zuka. There was also a pine tree on which the kimono was hung, but at some point it withered and died. Now only one pine tree that was replanted thirty or forty years ago remains, making this a pitiful ancient mound.
