they illuminate my dark treasures. Long ago, the "Four Obsessions" (those with four peculiar traits) came to consult with me about various matters. Since I am fundamentally a Confucian scholar who does not establish written doctrines (one who emphasizes practice), how could I respond to such requests? I smiled wryly and did not respond. The Four Obsessions hung their heads in apparent disappointment. Then I said to them: "For you to accomplish this would be easier than becoming the King of Qi. Now, if you wait together with Eiki for the right time, it will surely come. I intend to ride that momentum." The Four Obsessions were delighted, and I finally took up the drum for them
