○この書の構成順序について、前編は府城（名古屋城）から筆を起こし、熱田宮を中心として、津島神社で終わる。これは当国八郡の中で、愛知・知多・海東・海西の下四郡をもって前編七巻とし、後編は中島・春日井・丹羽・葉栗の上四郡を五巻として、一宮・瀬戸・犬山を始め・中・終に配列する。前後十二巻でその完全なものとする。
○当国は地形が平坦で穏やかであり、山や谷が少なく、土壌が肥沃であって五穀や野菜はもちろんのこと、魚介類に至るまで名産が多く、村里や人口も四方に広がっている。古今の変遷も少なくないとはいえ、そもそもの開発が古くて景勝地や名所も多いので、その中でも最も著名なものを取り上げ、怪奇譚や俗語に属するものはすべて省くとはいえ、その説が古いことについてはまれに掲載することもある。

General Rules
○Regarding the organizational sequence of this book, the first part begins with the provincial castle (Nagoya Castle), centers on Atsuta Shrine, and ends with Tsushima Shrine. This comprises the lower four districts of Aichi, Chita, Kaitō, and Kaisai among the eight districts of this province to form seven volumes of the first part, while the second part consists of five volumes covering the upper four districts of Nakajima, Kasugai, Niwa, and Haguri, with Ichinomiya, Seto, and Inuyama arranged as beginning, middle, and end. The complete work totals twelve volumes in the first and second parts.
○This province has gentle and flat terrain with few mountains and valleys, fertile soil, and abundant famous products ranging from the five grains and vegetables to fish and shellfish. Villages and population extend in all four directions. Although historical changes have been considerable, the original development is ancient and there are many scenic spots and famous districts. From among these, we select the most renowned, and while we generally omit those belonging to strange tales and folk stories, we occasionally include those whose explanations are of ancient origin.
○Regarding shrines and Buddhist temples whose establishment or founding are recent and lack old theories or ancient traditions, we omit them entirely and do not include them. However, those that are imposingly built with large structures and high ridgepoles are sometimes recorded
