なし其身は剃髪（ていはつ）して弟子となり藤姫の塚の辺に庵を結び
菩提をぞ弔（とふら）【吊は俗字】ひける《割書：此時恩雄はの廿一才藤姫は十六才也｜法名を大空了覚信女といふ》其後天応元
年橋本中将関東に下向の折から粟手の森の古蹟など
こゝかしこ遊覧し玉ふに彼恩雄法師が庵を窺（うかゞ）ひ本尊の
薬師仏いと尊く菴主も若き身にして殊勝（しゆしやう）に念仏せしを
感じ法師が身のなるはてをも問ひ給ふに法師もしか〴〵と語
れば彼卿 頓（とみ）に色を失ひ泣々（なく〳〵）語り玉ふは其藤姫こそ我奥州
に左遷（させん）【迁は遷の俗字】ありし時 賎（しづ）の女の腹（はら）にやどせしわが一子也我帰洛の
後 音信（おとづれ）もせざりしが母は死して其子汝に嫁（か）し共に我を慕（した）ひ
上京せんとせしにこゝにて身まかりし事のはかなさよとて遂（つゐ）に
其師の東岩和尚を請じ反魂香を焚（た）き秘法をも修せしかば
香烟の中に二八の女性（によしやう）忽然（こつせん）と顕（あら）はれけるを近づきて言葉を
かはさんとせしかど烟と共に失（うせ）にけり彼卿は悲喜の泪（なみだ）をしぼり
現代語訳
恩雄は剃髪して弟子となり、藤姫の墓の近くに庵を結び、菩提を弔った。《この時恩雄は二十一歳、藤姫は十六歳であった。法名を大空了覚信女という》その後天応元年、橋本中将が関東に下向した折に、粟手の森の古跡などをあちこち遊覧されたが、かの恩雄法師の庵を覗き見ると、本尊の薬師仏がとても尊く、庵主も若い身でありながら殊勝に念仏していたのを感じて、法師の身の成り行きを問われた。法師がしかじかと語ると、その公卿は急に顔色を失い、泣きながら語られるには「その藤姫こそ、私が奥州に左遷されていた時、身分の低い女の腹に宿した我が一子である。私が帰洛した後、音信もしなかったが、母は死んでその子をお前に嫁がせ、共に私を慕って上京しようとしたが、ここで亡くなってしまった事のはかなさよ」と言って、ついにその師の東岩和尚を請じて反魂香を焚き、秘法をも修したところ、香煙の中に十六歳の女性が忽然と現れたので、近づいて言葉を交わそうとしたが、煙と共に消えてしまった。その公卿は悲喜の涙を流し

Onyu shaved his head and became a disciple, built a hermitage near Princess Fuji's grave, and prayed for her soul's repose. 《At this time Onyu was twenty-one years old and Princess Fuji was sixteen. Her Buddhist name was Daikū Ryōkaku Shinnyo》 Later, in the first year of Ten'ō era, when Middle Captain Hashimoto went down to the eastern provinces, he toured various places including the historic sites of Awate no Mori. When he peered into that monk Onyu's hermitage, he was moved by how venerable the principal image of Yakushi Buddha was, and how the young hermit master devotedly chanted the nembutsu, so he inquired about the monk's life story. When the monk related his tale, the court noble suddenly lost his color and tearfully said, "That Princess Fuji was my own child, conceived in the womb of a woman of low rank when I was exiled to Ōshū. After I returned to the capital, I sent no word, but the mother died and married her child to you, and together you tried to come to the capital following me, but she died here—how ephemeral it all is!" Finally, he summoned his master, the priest Tōgan, and burned soul-returning incense while performing secret rituals. In the incense smoke, a sixteen-year-old woman suddenly appeared, and when he tried to approach and speak with her, she vanished along with the smoke. The nobleman shed tears of both sorrow and joy
