ゆ天翔（あまかけり）来（き）て鱗（いろこ）なす
瓦（かはら）のうへの頂（いたゞき）の左り右りに
海（うな）ねつき風の吹日もたの夜もいゆき
さしすて常鎮（とこしへ）に侍（さふら）ふみれは真菅（ますげ）よし
これの尾張の国しらす
君の御威稜（みゐづ）【注】は玉鉾（たまぼこ）の道行人も
あはと見て驚くまてにいちしろく
目もかゝやきて

開けた佳気が中天に黄色く輝く
鵠（こう）が廻って道となり登り臨むに
賦を裁するに好し、乾坤に吾が
党の仲宣の才あり

高殿を振り返って見れば
雲井にこそ高く見え
たのだ。大海のどの魚が
賢いのだろうか。鱐（さち）という魚も
海の空にはいないけれど
この殿に仕えまつると海原
から天翔けて来て鱗のような
瓦の上の頂の左右に
海のように寝付き風の吹く日も静かな夜も行き
差し捨てて永遠に侍る様子を見れば、まことに立派で
この尾張の国を治める
君の御威光は、玉鉾の道を行く人も
あっと見て驚くほどに著しく
目も輝いて
まことに畏れ多い

Resting on a straw pillow, suddenly unaware of the height,
Looking back at the tall palace,
It appears high indeed
in the clouds. Which fish of the great sea
is wise? Even the sachi fish,
though not dwelling in the ocean sky,
serves this palace, flying from the sea plains
across the heavens, and like scales
on the roof tiles of the summit's left and right sides,
settles like the sea. On windy days and quiet nights alike,
casting aside all else, serving eternally. Seeing this, truly excellent—
our lord who rules
this land of Owari, his august majesty
is so remarkable that even travelers on the jeweled road
look up in surprise,
their eyes sparkling,
truly awe-inspiring.
