蜂須賀（はちすか）蔵人（くらんど）正利（まさとし）宅址《割書：同村に｜あり》高名記に云中比尾張国蜂須賀の

『高名記』に云う、中比（なかごろ）、尾張国蜂須賀の里に蜂須賀蔵人源正利という人があった。元来斯波武衛の末葉であったが、しかし武衛家が衰微に及んで、この里に蟄居し、所の名をもって苗字とし、わずかに百貫の地を領して年月を送り、民家に軒を並べ、その名は隠れて知る人は更になかった。
大永六年、一子をもうけ、その名を蜂須賀小六郎と名づけた。成長するにしたがって智・仁・勇の三徳を備え、智謀勇猛の良士となった。初めは犬山の城主織田十郎左衛門信清が旗下に属していた。ある日、信清が他に出行した間に、敵が窺い来りて犬山の城を囲んだ。小六郎は防ぎ戦い、敵を追い払い、棟梁の敵を槍下に討ち取った。その武功を世こぞって感嘆した。
その後、岩倉の城主織田兵衛尉が旗下にある時に、家臣が謀叛して城を囲んだ。すると小六郎は突いて出て敵を追い払い、槍を合わせ首を取って高名した。それより信長公に仕え、濃州斎藤龍興との合戦の時に功名（を立てた）。

Site of Hachisuka Kurando Masatoshi's Residence (located in the same village)
The Komyo-ki (Record of Famous Deeds) states: In the middle period, there was a man named Hachisuka Kurando Minamoto no Masatoshi in the village of Hachisuka in Owari Province. He was originally a descendant of the Shiba Military Guards, but when the Military Guard house fell into decline, he secluded himself in this village, took the place name as his family name, governed merely a hundred kan worth of land, lived alongside common houses, and his name became obscured with no one knowing of him.
In the sixth year of Taiei (1526), he had a son whom he named Hachisuka Korokuro. As the boy grew, he came to possess the three virtues of wisdom, benevolence, and courage, becoming a fine warrior of intelligence and valor. Initially, he served under Oda Juro Zaemon Nobukiyo, lord of Inuyama Castle. One day, while Nobukiyo was away on other business, enemies came to spy and surrounded Inuyama Castle. Korokuro defended and fought, drove off the enemies, and struck down the enemy commander with his spear. The whole world admired his military achievements.
Later, when he was serving under Oda Hyoe-no-jo, lord of Iwakura Castle, retainers rebelled and surrounded the castle. Korokuro then charged out, drove off the enemies, crossed spears with them, took heads, and gained fame. From then on he served Lord Nobunaga, and achieved merit in battles against Saito Tatsuoki of Mino Province.
