その様子は測り知れないほど素晴らしく、川中には梶島、油島等の島々があり、ここより桑名への船路は三里余り、常に大小の船の往来が絶えることなく、身分の高い貴人及び西国の諸大名方も皆この川を通行なされて、熱田潟の七里の渡しに続く船渡しである。

The boat route from here to Kuwana is over three ri, with large and small boats constantly coming and going. High-ranking nobles and daimyo from the western provinces all pass through this river, connecting to the seven-ri ferry crossing of Atsuta Lagoon.
