孝養の図
【左丁】
子を思う道に迷っている親は多いが、恩を報いる子は稀である。ここに身分は賤しいながらも親に孝行を行う者がいるという話を聞いて、思いを続けて詠んだ。
賢いことよ、身は卑しくても
父母に厚く仕える
その心の高さは

While there are many parents who are lost in the way of thinking about their children, children who repay their debt of gratitude are rare. Here, having heard of someone who, though of humble station, practices filial piety toward their parents, I composed this poem with continued reflection.
How admirable - though the body is lowly,
to serve one's parents with devotion,
how noble is that heart!
