【上段】
○火鶏（クワケイ）は形が鶏に

[Upper section]
○The Kwakei (fire chicken/turkey) resembles a chicken
in shape, is seven shaku tall, has a long
neck, and can fly three
hundred ri in a day. It is a bird from foreign countries.
Because it resembles a camel-horse, it is also called
Rakudakuhaku (camel crane).
○The Kaku (osprey) is a type of hawk.
It resembles a hawk but its feather color is yellow-white.
It flies around seashores and over water
and is good at catching
and eating fish.
○The Hamadarashigi (spotted sandpiper) is a member
of the sandpiper family. Its feathers have
beautiful spots.
It lives in rice fields and marshes, and like other sandpipers,
flies in flocks.
○The Ban (coot) is a water bird. There are
large and small varieties, and its shape resembles geese and ducks
but with long legs.
