土津様御登之節は未透と不相見
平生之様に無之由且物忌も少々有之候

現代語訳
得共、土津様御登りの節は未だ透らず相見えず、平生の様ではない由、且つ物忌も少々これあり候様聞し召され候。大方の御用の儀は承るに及ばず候間、常々養生専一に仕るべく候。頓て堀普請等も申し付くべく候。去年中までは終日普請場に罷り在り気色をも尽くし候故、煩い候と思し召され候。奉行の儀は普請奉行その外与頭・物頭・大横目・江戸交代横目・郡奉行等折々罷り出で候事に候えば有余の事に候間、見計らい専一に気色養生仕るべき旨仰せ下され候事

However, when Lord Doshin made his visit, [the retainer's condition] had not yet cleared and he could not meet him, being unlike his usual state, and it was heard that he also had some ritual abstinences. Since there was no need to undertake major official duties, he was to focus primarily on maintaining his health at all times. Soon moat construction work would also be assigned. Until the previous year, he had remained at construction sites all day and exhausted his strength, which was thought to be the cause of his illness. Regarding magistrate duties, since construction magistrates and other group leaders, unit commanders, chief inspectors, Edo rotation inspectors, district magistrates and others came and went occasionally, there was sufficient coverage, so he was commanded to focus primarily on careful health maintenance.
