現代語訳
各地の借り手のところへ夢の枕に立ったことなので、われもわれもと切ない金を元利揃えて持ち来たり、返してくれた。貴賎群衆おびただしく福徳屋の門前市をなし、まことに福徳屋の三年目なり。
金を借りした者が残らず返してくれたので、福の人々は家族利息があって、きんきんと栄えて、町人は商売繁盛をなして、少しの内の苦しみを、狐の書いた狂言にて、めでたく栄えた。

英語訳
Since [the fox spirit] appeared in dreams as a pillow god to borrowers in various places, everyone scrambled to bring back their money with principal and interest included to repay their debts. People of all social classes gathered in great numbers, creating a marketplace in front of Fukutokuya's gate. This was truly Fukutokuya's "third year" [moment of great fortune].
Since all those who had borrowed money returned it without exception, the fortunate people gained family profits and prospered brilliantly. The merchants achieved commercial prosperity, and their brief period of hardship became a comedic play written by the fox, leading to auspicious prosperity.
