○初熱より八九日に及て湯にむせ乳にむせて鼻へふき
出すものあり此 頃（ころ）は咽喉の道（みち）より内面（うちつら）へ痘出るゆへに
声（こゑ）もかるゝなり《振り仮名：呼吸｜こきう｜いき》の妨（さまたけ）に成てむする也丈夫に呑
喰するものは半分（はんぶん）たらず落つくゆへに別条（べつでう）なし尤も
これなくめいわくするは胃気つかれてああうし見点（でかけ）
のせつ声かわりたるは先（まづ）内面より痘出るが故に逆（ぎやく）
症なりきわめて不治の候とすへし
痘毒を除（のぞ）き生を延（のぶ）る薬法

延生（ゑんせい）第（たい）一方
児の臍の帯落てのち焼て性を存（そん）し霜（しも）とす
右（みぎ）之霜重さ五分有は朱砂（しゆしや）二分五 厘（りん）用ゆ
生地黄（しやうぢわう）当帰身（とうきしん）二味の煎汁を蜆殻（しゝみから）に一二 杯（はい）入
朱砂臍帯を和（くわ）しとゝのへ児（こ）の上腭（うはあご）或は乳母（うば）の乳（ち）
房（ふさ）に着（つけ）て呑しむ一日の内に用ひ尽すへし翌日（あくるひ）
大便に悪しき物下りて一生ほうさうをのがるゝ也
又方
糸瓜（へちま）蔓（つる）藤ともに陰乾（かけぼし）にして浴し并（ならび）に煎汁を

○初熱から八九日に及んで、湯を飲むとむせ、乳を飲むとむせて鼻へ吹き出すものがある。この頃は咽喉の道から内面へ痘疹が出るゆえに声もかすれるのである。呼吸の妨げになってむせるのである。丈夫に飲み食いするものは半分足らずで落ち着くゆえに別に問題はない。もっともこれなく迷惑するのは胃気が疲れて嘔吐し、見た目にも声が変わったのは、まず内面より痘疹が出るが故に逆症である。極めて不治の症候とすべきである。
痘毒を除き生を延ばす薬法
【左丁】
延生第一方
児の臍の緒が落ちた後、焼いて性質を保存し、霜状にする。
右の霜の重さが五分あれば朱砂二分五厘を用いる。
生地黄・当帰身二味の煎汁をしじみの殻に一二杯入れ、朱砂・臍帯を混ぜ合わせて整え、児の上顎あるいは乳母の乳房に付けて飲ませる。一日の内に使い尽くすべきである。翌日大便に悪しき物が下って一生痘瘡を免れるのである。
又方
糸瓜の蔓・藤ともに陰干しにして浴し、並びに煎汁を[続く]

○From the initial fever extending to the 8th or 9th day, there are cases where patients choke on hot water and milk, spitting them out through the nose. During this time, pox erupts from the throat passage to the inner surfaces, causing the voice to become hoarse. This interferes with breathing and causes choking. Those who eat and drink robustly settle down with less than half the symptoms, so there is no particular problem. However, those who suffer without this [ability] have exhausted stomach qi and vomit. When the appearance and voice change, this is because pox first erupts from the inner surfaces, making it a reverse syndrome. This should be considered an extremely incurable condition.

Life-Extending Formula Number One
After the child's umbilical cord falls off, burn it while preserving its properties, making it into powder.
If this powder weighs 5 bu, use 2 bu and 5 rin of cinnabar.
Put one or two cups of decoction of raw rehmannia and angelica body into corbicula shells, mix the cinnabar and umbilical cord powder together, and apply it to the child's upper palate or the wet nurse's breast to make them swallow it. It should be used up within one day. The next day, bad substances will be discharged in the stool, and the person will escape smallpox for life.
