　答て曰本草に底野迦（ていやか）と出（いで）たり此物 諸獣（しよじう）の脂（あぶら）血を
　以て《振り仮名：香竄｜かうざん｜にほひいり》の気薬をねり合せたる也水もり山あけ
　に効有とて用ゆ《振り仮名：汚穢｜を　｜けがれたる》の《振り仮名：雑｜ざつ｜まじへ》物なれは用べからす鹿茸を
　薬に加て用ゆるがよし同類（とうるい）なるを以て重宝（ちやうほう）せらるゝ
　と見ゆとかく病症に臨て治方考べし此かぎりには
　あらす術を行ふはひろく書を見るにしかず

理は牝牡ともに同じく象牙の肌理に類している。大体象牙の重さ程度をかけて見れば、象牙は軽く、一角は甚だ重い。細工にしては、その状態を区別するのは難しい。鯨骨は偽物を作って象牙にも似せることができず、明らかに見分けがつく物である。値段が高いからといって偽物を用いてはならない。何の益があろうか。その上、難治の罪を真の一角に負わせて、無実の傷を蒙らせてはならない。私の家で秘蔵している所の通天梅花片の一方は、一角の入った霊薬である。汝の知っている所の治験によって真なるものを得るべきである。

もって香りの強い気薬を練り合わせたものである。水漏れ、山開きに効果有るとて用いる。汚れた雑物であるので用いてはならない。鹿茸を薬に加えて用いるのがよい。同類であるので重宝されると見える。とかく病症に臨んで治方を考えるべきである。このことに限らず、術を行うのは広く書を見るに如かない。
