別￣ニ懸鉤子（ケンデウシ）￣アリ是木苺￣ニシテ其葉似￣リ＿二蒲蔔￣ニ＿一硬茎＿二
無＿レ刺（イラ）其樹 稍（ヤヽ）大￣シ＿レ野苺￣ハ其葉￣ニ似￣リ＿二 鶏冠木（モミヂ）￣ニ＿一
故借￣テ＿二木苺￣ノ名￣ヲ＿一称￣スル＿二懸鉤子（モミチイチゴ）￣ト＿一者矣
大和本草ヲ考ルニ

野苺ナルベシ
此木枝甚繁栄ス
其葉大￣サ如＿二桑葉＿一
トハヨク合ヘリ

【野苺、苺の類】
武江産物志に曰く
懸鉤子（モミジイチゴ）
私が言うには、
別に懸鉤子（ケンコウシ）がある。これは木苺であって、その葉は蒲萄に似て、茎は硬く刺がない。その樹は野苺よりもやや大きい。野苺はその葉が鶏冠木（紅葉）に似ているので、木苺の名を借りて懸鉤子（モミジイチゴ）と称するのである。
大和本草を考えるに、
これは野苺であろう。
この木の枝は甚だ繁茂する
その葉の大きさは桑葉のようである
とはよく合致している。

五月に熟するとあるのは、この草

According to Bukō Sanbutsu-shi (Edo Products Record):
Kenkōshi (Maple-leaf strawberry)
I say:
There is another plant called kenkōshi. This is a tree strawberry, and its leaves resemble grapes, with hard stems without thorns. The tree is somewhat larger than wild strawberry. Wild strawberry has leaves that resemble maple leaves, so it borrows the name of tree strawberry and is called kenkōshi (maple strawberry).
Considering the Yamato Honzō:
This should be wild strawberry.
The branches of this tree flourish greatly
The size of its leaves is like mulberry leaves
This matches well.
