之節者後段出し候儀者勿論ニ候後段出し候以後

面々格式ニかまひなく身上ニ応し随分軽く召連
高知たりと云共御城下にてハ或乗物或乗馬一
事を可用但年若き候者ハ専馬上尤之事

江戸表御供之面々又ハ御使者ニ罷越時分大身
小身共ニ人数分限より軽く可召連他国江御使者
之節者身躰相応ニ可召連事
一屋作之事
新敷作事軽き儀にても無用たるへし但無拠
儀者各別ニ候破損あらハ修覆の致し様見苦敷ハ
現代語訳
の際は後段を出すことは勿論のこと、後段を出した以後に続けて急に別の料理を出すこともあるように聞いているが、そのようなことは無用とすべきである。結局のところ、もてなしの品ばかりに後段も出し、また料理等を出すような無用の結構を行わないこととする。
一、六月二十五日、御家中の簡略の件について評定所において月番御家老酒井丹下が左の通り書付をもって諸月番へ申し渡した。

一、家中の供回りのこと
面々格式にかかわらず身上に応じて随分軽く召し連れること。高知であっても御城下では乗物か乗馬のいずれか一つを用いること。ただし年若い者は専ら馬上が最もよいこと。
付け加え
江戸表への御供の面々又は御使者として赴く時分には、大身小身共に人数を分限より軽く召し連れること。他国への御使者の際は身体相応に召し連れること。
一、屋作りのこと
新しい作事は軽い工事であっても無用とすべし。ただし、やむを得ない場合は格別である。破損があれば修復を行うが、その様子が見苦しければ

When accompanying to Edo or when dispatched as messengers, both high-ranking and low-ranking retainers should keep their retinue lighter than their stipend would normally allow. When serving as messengers to other domains, they should keep retinues appropriate to their status.
